Recreation & Culture
The REDI region boasts a rich history and is home to a mix of some of the province's oldest communities, Fort Vermilion, and one of the province's newest communities, Rainbow Lake.
The region’s strong sense of community and tradition is celebrated through a wide variety of festivals, rodeos, fairs, and special events, including Pioneer Days and Farmer Days, which are held throughout the year.
Northern Alberta’s pristine lakes, mighty rivers, abundant wildlife, and untapped wilderness provide a spectacular backdrop for an outdoor experience of a lifetime by horseback, canoe/kayak, jet-boat, ATV, or simply by foot. Remote lakes and rivers offer a walleye, pike, trout, or grayling fishing experience of a lifetime.
