Education and Training Options
The Fort Vermilion School Division No. 52 operates 14 schools, one native school for the Department of Indian Affairs and Northern Development and three Learning Stores (storefront schools). The division maintains an enviable average class size of 20, lower than Alberta Learning Commission’s recommendations. School facilities are continually expanding to keep pace with the rapidly growing student population.
Contemporary instruction, highly qualified teachers and a low-student-teacher ratio makes for a solid and secure public education system for children kindergarten to grade 12.
From business administration and trades training, there’s something for everyone at NAIT’s northern campus in High Level or though NAIT’s distance learning program.
In Fort Vermilion and Paddle Prairie, Northern Lakes College delivers flexible programming in career training and academic upgrading.
